For a New Jersey bred rock star who isnt ashamed to say his band Bon Jovi could be to blame for much of the bad hair of the eighties, Jon Bon Jovi has come a long way in the style stakes. These days your more likley to see the singer, actor, philanthropist, and sometimes fashion designer, sitting front and centre at a Giorgio Armarni runway show. Although he remains true to his frosted roots with a snug fittinf trouser and dark sunglasses, the skin tight stonewash denims and teased hair are no more. You could say Ive learned a lot about fashion over the past few years he says.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR CURRENT STYLE??
Im no clothes horse. In fact if I didnt get free clothes from designers I probably wouldnt have any clothes at all.The clothes Im wearing right now have holes and theyre not the stylish kind of holes you pay extra money for-its just because theyve been worn so many times.
WHATS YOUR FAVOURITE ITEM OF CLOTHING?
I just really like clothes that are comfortable. Ive lived in Levis my whole life. In fact the only designer I cared to know about until I was 30 was Levi Strauss.
SO ITS MORE OF A LOW-MAINTENANCESTYLE THAN A GLAM ROCK LOOK OF THE 80S?
You could say that, these days I usually wear the same pair of jeans until they walk to the laundry by themselves.

Ive had the opportunity to endorse a lot of things in the past but this just felt right.Kenneth Cole has a social conscience in whatever he does and Id admired him from afar,worn his clothes and I know the guy as a Dad and Husband. They asked me if I would be interseted in being associated with RSVP. and I thought okay I can get behind this. The advertising campaign for the fragrance is a call to respond and become involved in raising awareness about homlessness and working towards a solution.
SUPPORTING CARITIES HAS ALWAYS BEEN A BIG PART OF YOUR LIFE. WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT TO YOU?
Theres been a slew of charities Ive made money for. As my career went on, we the band felt more responsible and started doing bigger things. Weve built medical centres and funded a lot of community projects through my football team and its charitable foundation, over the past four years, but now weve decided to focus our attention on one issue.
YOUR AIM TO PROVIDE AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR THE HOMELESS. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS ISSUE??
Homelessness is an issue Ive been aware of for a number of years now and its something I dont have to rely on a scientist to find a cure for or a pharmaceutical company to fund. This problem is finite. Its just a matter of Money that needs to be raised and we can eliminate the problem. Its very gratifying because I can see the effects immediatly. I make a buck, I give it, we build it and its that easy.
THE BAND HAS A MEMOIR COMING OUT AT THE END OF THE YEAR. SHOULD WE BE EXPECTING SOME TALES OF ROCK AND ROLL EXCESS??
Oh no, its not going to be a cliched rock band story. Ive read those and Ive seen the bad made for tv movies. This will be a little smarter that what people are expecting.
IN FEBUARY THE BAND WON A GRAMMY IN THE BEST COUNRTY COLLABORATION CATEGORY FOR THE SONG WSYCGH..IS THIS A NEW DIRECTION FOR THE BAND?
I think this new generation of country fans grew up on our records and embraced that song. Im greatful for it, but we didnt seek a new direction it just sort of happend organically. that was the majic of it. Country music fits this band rather easily. We didnt get into rap or boy band stuff.. This is really just Americana. Its a Bon Jovi track at the end of the day, as well as being a number one single- who knew it would be so big.
ARE THERE ANY OUTFITS FROM YOUR PAST THAT MAKE YOU CRINGE?
Are you joking/ I can think of so many. The whole 80s period. Im either to blame or should get the credit for all that. The entire decade hung on my back.

1)FOOD... I love Japanese food especially Sushi
2)SPORT... I became the co owner of the Arena football leagues Philadelphia Soul team in 2003. From its inception our mission was to use the team as a way to give back to the community .
3) COLOGNE.....Im wearing RSVP right now. he says og the spicy sandlewood grapefruit and pepper scent.

4)CLOTHES...Ive know Kenneth a lontime. Ive always liked his clothes. When he asked if I would be interested in designing a jacket where all the proceeds would go to charity. I jumped at the idea.
5)CAR...Im a big car fan and Ive had a lot of them over the years. Especially old American chevys. I love my 1970 chevy mailbu convertible..Its a great old American muscle car.
6) HOLIDAY DESTINATION...The Caribbean..St Barts has always been a favourite.
7)JEANS...My favourite fashion designer is Levi Strauss..Levi 501's.
