Staring At Your W... - Ciekawa interpretacja

Post autor: Adrian »

Is Jon talking about Bon Jovi in this song? For a long time I thought that song was about some girl. But today after listening to the song I started to wonder if he was actually talking about the whole Bon Jovi experience.

Staring At Your Window With A Suitcase In My Hand
J. Bon Jovi

You think you know me just because you know my name
You think you see me 'cause you've seen every line on my face
You want to want me just beacause I say that I want you
But does it matter if anything I'm saying is the truth
You need somebody, somebody to hold on to
But this ain't the movies and we ain't heroes
-- He talks about Bon Jovi fans here

Staring at your window with a suitcase in my hand
The streetlights buzz as the cars roll by and the moon don't give a damn
My boots just keep on walkin', but my heart don't understand
Why I'm staring at your window with a suitcase in my hand
-- He wants to walk away from BJ, or maybe he feels like it's time to walk away, but he cannot

I said I want you, but when we woke up one of us was crying
You rolled over and all you said was -
"Man, I think I'm dying"
-- YOU is Bon Jovi. He wanted to be in BJ and you all know what happened in the end of the 80s. Read further.

Our song is over, this band of gold has been feeling like a noose
You place your bets, 'cause no one thinks they'll lose
-- What about that? Huh?

Staring at your window with a suitcase in my hand
The streetlights buzz as the cars roll by and the moon don't give a damn
My boots just keep on walkin', but my heart don't understand
Why I'm staring at your window...

The light of love can blind you 'til you cover up your eyes
And you try to find the reason not to say goodbye
-- About Bon Jovi organization or what? He is holding on to BJ.

It's the curse of every sailor standing on dry land
-- Does that mean he thinks that BJ is done?

Staring at your window with a suitcase in my hand
The night is fading, like my old tattoo
A heart and a dagger, that says "Forever"
-- That is a BJ symbol

Staring at your window with a suitcase in my hand
The streetlights buzz as the cars roll by and the moon don't give a damn
I'm getting tired of talkin',
-- He is getting tired of trying to get some people understand what Bon Jovi is.

even I don't understand
Why I'm staring at your window with a suitcase in my hand
-- Did he himself lose his faith in Bon Jovi? But he still keeps returning to it.

-- Is this about Bon Jovi (at least what he thought in1996)? What do you think? He did say he wrote about things in DA he was afraid to admit to himself.

I'm still living, yeah, semper fi!

Remember that you're perfect
